LIVER ABCESS

Liver abscess is an infection in the liver that contains pus. They occur due to seeding of the liver by bacteria from somewhere else, such as gallbladder, bile duct, kidneys, appendix, bowel, or bone. They can make people quite ill and some require admission to hospital. Treatment may include antibiotics or drainage under radiological guidance.
